Australian progressive/extreme metal band Ne Obliviscaris just announced that their third studio album is complete. Album will be first release without bassist Brendan “Cygnus” Brown.
The release date of the new album as well as the name of the new bassist are still unknown.
The Norwegian black metal band Satyricon is currently in the studio to finalize its 9th studio album in September.
The official release date for the album is September 22nd.
Finnish band Hallatar, consisting out of Juha Raivio (Swallow the Sun, Trees of Eternity), Tomi Joutsen (Amorphis) and Gas Lipstick (ex-HIM). The new video “Mirrors” can be seen from below. The song is part of the band’s debut album “No Stars upon the Bridge“. The album is based on the lyrics and poems of Aleah Starbridge. The band will release the album this autumn through Svart Records.
English Extreme metal band Cradle Of Filth will release a new album called “Cryptoriana – The Seductiveness Of Decay” on September 22nd by Nuclear Blast. The album cover is created by Artūrs Bērzinš.
The recordings were done at Grindstone Studios in the UK, produced by Scott Atkins. The first single will be released on July 5th.
Finnish heavy metal band Black Dreams from Rauma released a new music video 10 of May after touring around Europe. The single was released with Inverse Records. Watch the music video here:
The town of Kouvola is often referred to as the “largest lighted cemetery” in Finland. Finland, which also happens to be seen as cold and where coldheartedness rules over people. While keeping in mind these stereotypes it seems like it’s the perfect ground for funeral doom metal bands. The Finnish funeral doom metal band Red Moon Architect is one of those bands who came from there. The band released their third album “Return of the Black Butterflies” in May. The name of the album subtly refers to one of the tracks on their debut album called “Black Butterflies”.

26.5.2017. Finnish glam metal band Santa Cruz presented new single named “River Phoenix”. Single promotes 3rd album on which the band is currently working with Finnvox Studios in their hometown – Helsinki, Finland. Santa Cruz plans to release the full album in late 2017.
Grunge legend Chris Cornell passed away on 17 May 2017 unexpectedly right after a concert in Detroit. He is most famous for his work as a vocalist for Soundgarden and Audioslave.
