FEATURED SINGLE: Everfrost – Winterider

About a month ago, we wrote about a single named “Cold Night Remedy” by the symphonic power metal act EVERFROST. A month later, the band releases a new single for their upcoming album “Winterider”. The title track of the album comes with a manga-styled lyric video, that gives a sneak peek of what to expect from the album.

With its amazingly uplifting atmosphere, “Winterider” consists out of a combination of outstanding energetic melody lines, wintry sounds, and a lot of power added by heavy guitar riffs and vocals. The atmosphere is enhanced by the use of vocal harmonies and choirs, used at strategic moments. This is a song that feels like it’s been carefully thought out… The band throws around with hooks like confetti blowing out of a canon, making the song incredibly catchy.

Altogether even more so than “Cold Night Remedy”, this single, shows us what we can expect from the upcoming album. “Winterider” feels like the beginning of a story, that will take you on an immersive journey, the lyrics are sometimes cryptic, but beautifully written and it’s simply amazing how the song really reflects on them, with little details such as the often frosty sounds. All-in-all an outstanding track, that definitely stands strong next to the first single “Cold Night Remedy”. If every song of this album is as strong as these two, we are bound to get a killer album!
