Last Friday, March 7th, 2025, the stage was set for an unforgettable night of Nordic mysticism, mythology, and raw energy as EIVØR and HEILUNG took over Helsinki Ice Hall in Helsinki, Finland. This performance marked the opening night of HEILUNG‘s newly announced 15-date tour—their last before taking an extended break from touring. In their own words, “Heilung retreats now. It will vanish from the stages, the roaring drums will be silent and the ecstatic dance is over. It will go to sleep, rest for a time and return stronger than ever before.” With this farewell looming, the night carried an extra weight of significance, making every moment feel like part of something truly special.

EIVØR opened the evening with a stunning set, that lasted roughly for 45 minutes, her ethereal voice weaving a spell over the audience. Known for her work on The Last Kingdom soundtrack, among other projects, where she helped craft the Viking-era atmosphere with her haunting vocals and compositions, she once again proved her ability to transport listeners to another time and place.

Then, HEILUNG took the experience even further. Their performance began not with music, but with a ritual—thick incense clouds engulfed the stage as the group invoked ancient spirits, building anticipation before launching into their nearly two-hour spectacle. From rhythmic chants to primal percussion, the show felt more like a ceremony than a concert, immersing everyone in their unique world of sound and storytelling.

With this tour serving as their last for the foreseeable future, HEILUNG delivered a performance that felt like both a farewell and a powerful ritual of renewal, leaving the audience in awe of their immersive artistry. Relive the atmosphere through the photo gallery below…
