Melodic death metal mastery descended upon De Helling in Utrecht on September 25th, 2025, as a powerful lineup of FULL HOUSE BREW CREW, SUOTANA, BEFORE THE DAWN, and WOLFHEART, took the stage for an unforgettable night.
Starting off with a little southern flavor to this evening, FULL HOUSE BREW CREW from Greece cranked up the groove and grit with their hard-hitting anthems. Their show was high on energy with a nice dose of heaviness and melodic hooks.
Rounding out the bill was SUOTANA, injecting a blast of symphonic and blackened energy into the night, standing apart with their atmospheric yet aggressive sound.
BEFORE THE DAWN, returning with renewed energy and a sharpened sound following their long-awaited comeback. Their atmospheric blend of melody and melancholy gripped the crowd from the very first note. Versatile new frontman, Paavo Laapotti, whose seamless mix of harsh growls and clean vocals brings fresh depth to their sound. Their latest album, “Cold Flare Eternal” (2025), leans into darker, heavier textures while retaining the melancholic elegance that defines their style.
Leading the charge was WOLFHEART, who delivered a relentless onslaught of icy riffs and thunderous drums. Under the wings of pack leader Tuomas Saukkonen, the band brought us some raw power with hauntingly atmospheric melodies. They are known to deliver a tight set played with precision, and this evening was exactly like that. Bassist and backing vocalist Lauri Silvonen, brought a commanding presence and contributed to the band’s deep, layered sound alongside guitarist Vagelis, who stood out this evening as he was on triple duty.
The evening took us on a relentless rhythmic soundscape, where crushing riffs met melodic depth in perfect balance. From thunderous grooves to more delicate, atmospheric moments, each band carved out its own emotional territory — and the audience followed every step with unwavering energy.
