On September 28th, 2023, an industrial combo hit club Hole44 in Berlin with German one-man band JANOSCH MOLDAU, aggrotech/industrial heavy hitters COMBICHRIST, and the Neue Deutsche Härte pioneers MEGAHERZ.

JANOSCH MOLDAU was the opening act. He is a one-man show, having only his guitar and synths on stage. His style was soft and synthwavy and the crowd seemed to enjoy it, and his warm voice created a dreamy atmosphere.

COMBICHRIST has been known for pure aggressiveness for almost twenty years now, whether in the old-school electro lineup or as an industrial metal band. This time around they played the industrial metal set with the opening aggrotech classic “Blut Royale.” It was good to see frontman Andy LaPlegua healthy and delivering a hardcore performance. The two other electro-iconic songs played were “Get Your Body Beat” and “Fuck That Shit.” The set was energetic and aggressive with moshpits forming in the center of the venue. “Maggots At The Party” was an absolute blast as well as “Hate Like Me.” The multi-instrumentalist Elliott Berlin literally had himself carried in the crowd’s hands by the end of the set and returned to the stage in one piece. The cherry on the top was “Never Surrender” and “My Life My Rules” for the encore. The only disappointment was that the iconic “Sent to Destroy” wasn’t performed this time around.

MEGAHERZ had a 75-minute set prepared, starting with the title track with the same name from the new album “In Teufel’s Name.” They had a well-balanced set, mixing some essential classics from the era in the 90s when Alex Wesselsky was still at the microphone – just think of the great “5. März.” – the setlist felt well-rounded and well-thought-out. The sound was powerful, the atmosphere was great, and the frontman Lex Wohnhaas was in a good mood and delivered a powerful performance.

Overall, the evening was packed with powerful and loud music with great talents. The event was organized by the local promoter Trinity Music. The venue was optimal, the crowd was respectful considering there was no photo pit, the light and sound technicians did a great job.
