OPETH is a pillar of progressive metal that manages to find a way to surprise its fans with each record. They aren’t afraid of overlapping with death metal territory, especially on their latest record, “The Last Will and Testament“ where Mikael Åkerfeldt gets back to growling after about 16-year break. They are also real darlings live, so it’s always a pleasure to give them a listen. LEPROUS are making a return to Brutal Assault after three years! They’re like no other – raw, emotional, and almost surgically precise, and at the same time, there is nothing forced in their soundscapes. It comes off completely naturally and genuinely. Aussies from KARNIVOOL have released barely three records, but what records these were! Dark emotive melodies, complex rhythms, and peculiar vastness are what gained them a fanbase not only in Australia but all over the world. They will be playing Brutal Assault for the first time, so it’s worth giving them a chance. Swedish HÄLLAS seems like any ’70s-inspired progressive rock. But their ambition is higher than Earth’s stratosphere. HÄLLAS intends to grab you on a sonic journey through space, time, and a couple of dimensions, so you’d better fasten your seatbelts. Oh, and bring snacks.
