As the year was approaching its end, I decided to finally hit up Kulttuuritalo (or Kultsa) on December 29, 2023, for the first time, and boy, have I been missing out. Designed by the legendary architect Alvar Aalto and hosting rock gods like Jimi Hendrix and Led Zeppelin since 1958, the venue’s got history oozing from every corner.
The lineup featured three bands I’d never caught live before. BLOCK OF FLATS kicked things off to a modest crowd, but the place filled up real quick for ST.AURORA. The venue’s wide stage was a playground for their performance. LOST SOCIETY, the headliner, brought GETTOMASA for a surprise rap collaboration. Not my usual jam, but damn, did it work with those guitar riffs. Every band was clearly vibing on that massive stage, and the good energy was contagious. Kultsa, consider me a regular from now on.
