FEATURED SINGLE: Let it All Burn – Drown

Brand new modern metal act LET IT ALL BURN are back again with their second single, “Drown.” Well, actually, “Drown” has already been released for a week or so, but as of today, the song now has a music video to go with! This video has been teased all week on social media, so we were honored to be the first ones to see it and feature it for you today!

First of all, this song was already a banger when it was released without a video. From the ambient-yet-intense intro, to the pick-up where it gets dark and heavy, up to the slow-down as the vocals set in, even into the poppier bridge, and beyond through the gritty and heavy chorus, right through to the end. It’s a great track and we’re pleased to see Lauri Hämälainen fitting very nicely into the role of a vocalist, as we’ve usually known him as a guitarist. Moreover, it doesn’t sound anything like their previous single and shows off a variety in sound that is setting a really enjoyable foundation for them to build on with future releases!

The video was shot in a warehouse-like setting, heavily filtered through red lights and shadows. The red light adds intensity to the video – red is known for anger and energy, which suits the song perfectly. There’s something simple-yet-great about the basic “band performance” music videos; sure, they’ve been done a million times, but it’s nice to see bands getting into their music and how they interpret it as a performance. In this case, the video is really stylishly done, with interesting camera work to keep it visually pleasing, while the band let loose and do their thing. It’s certainly keeping my interest in these guys piqued!

We’re only a handful of songs into getting to know LET IT ALL BURN, but it’s safe to say that my head, at very least, has been turned. Maybe it’s just because “Closure Will Prevail” revealed itself to me at exactly the right time and place, but I definitely have an embedded interest in seeing where things go from here, especially now that this second track has shown that these guys aren’t just a one-trick pony. I’m not sure about you, but I’m excited for more from them. Dare I say, I’m even finding myself looking forward to seeing an artist live again for what seems like the first time in age!
