Ableton are inviting musicians, engineers, and artists of the Nordic Community to their FREE Livestream event on the 24th June at 7pm CEST with Icelandic singer, songwriter, composer and multi-instrumentalist Jófríður Ákadóttir, also known as JFDR.
In this combination of artist masterclass and performance, JFDR along with Ableton expert Joseph Joyce explore why ‘doing a lot with a little’ has been an integral part of her music making. In a mix of Ableton Live demonstrations, interview sessions and a short 15-minute showpiece, she illustrates how to create enthralling, spacious music with the sparing use of resources. Musicians wanting to start capturing their performances and recording their ideas but don’t know where to begin, this is the perfect opportunity to open up Ableton Live and get started on their music making journey, with Q&A time after the session for attendees to ask JFDR questions.
Jófríður Ákadóttir, a founding member of the Icelandic groups SAMARIS and PASCAL PINON, has worked with numerous other musicians and has composed music for film and television including the score for recent TV mini-series Backyard Village. Under the JFDR name she has launched several solo albums including her latest, “New Dreams,” which won the Reykjavík Grapevine Music Awards 2021 album of the year.
Attendees who would like to familiarize themselves with Ableton Live before the sessions can download a free 90-day trial of the newly released Ableton Live 11 ableton.com/en/live/.
