Today’s post will be a fine fusion dish as we will take a look at the more groovier side of things, as well as some hardcore announcements.

FEAR FACTORY is one of the most prominent industrial metal bands out there. And they will be back in the Fortress to perform their most important album, “Demanufacture”. A popular question among fans was whether the new vocalist could pull off Burton C. Bell’s part and performance. Nobody could ever imagine FEAR FACTORY playing without him. Not to worry – we have seen Milo Silvestro in action before, and we can attest that he is doing a great job. British GRAPHIC NATURE went slightly against the crowd and decided to dabble in a sort of forgotten nu metal genre and blending it with modern metalcore. It’s a very angry, very fierce combination that will grab the crowd in a chokehold. MNEMIC is another eclectic band with strong industrial roots and really groovy melodies, going sometimes borderline into Strapping Young Lad territory. They were on a hiatus since 2013 but reunited in 2024 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of their sophomore album, “The Audio Injected Soul”.
American DROWNING POOL is a crucial nu metal act that skyrocketed to fame with their debut 2001 album “Sinner,” which, yes, included the notorious single “Bodies”. They need absolutely no introduction. They need you to mosh in the pit and have a blast there. Yet another band in a similar vein is obviously ILL NIÑO, who blend nu metal with Latin music elements. The explosive mixture propelled them into fame really quickly and for good reasons. Expect some thick and tasty guitar riffs and plenty of heabang-worthy grooves! THE BROWNING is technically a metalcore band with extremely strong electronic inclinations. It’s an unusual mix, but it rocks like a boat in the middle of the ocean! PRONG is another project that blends whatever they feel like and makes it work beautifully. Main force behind the project, Tommy Victor, is not afraid to serve a sandwich of thrash, industrial, and punk, a very yummy one, might we add. Add to that excellent live performances, and there you have it, Prong in a nutshell! Let’s go progressively weirder and more towards electronica. A provocative and bizarre performance will be provided by American PATRIARCHY. Led by Actually Huizenga, who stylistically dances at the perimeter of desire and death while sounding like an industrial band playing 80s pop. FRAYLE is another US act which seems more dreamy, airy, hypnotic, almost. But there’s still plenty of metal there, not to worry. Vocalist Gwyn can show her claws from time to time.
Lastly, two purely electronic bands because man cannot live by guitars and double bass alone. First, GOST, which is making a comeback to Fortress after a couple of years. It’s usually classified as dark synthwave. Despite the electronic facade, you can clearly hear how metal the songs are. And how catchy as well. GosT will have an excellent company, namely Swedish PRIEST. They dub themselves as an occult techno-pop act, and that is the most precise descriptor of their top-notch music.
