REVIEW: Miehala – EP: Sons of Alaheim

MIEHALA‘s sonic journey continues to evolve as they recently unveiled their latest sonic offering, the “Sons of Alaheim” EP, on March 15th, 2024. This new release showcases their continued exploration of the Finnish thrash metal landscape, further solidifying their position as a formidable force in the genre. With their roots firmly planted in the rich tapestry of ’80s thrash metal, MIEHALA‘s sound continues to push boundaries, drawing influences from death and doom metal, while maintaining a nostalgic yet innovative approach. Drummer Elias Lepistö, now also taking on the role of main vocalist, delivers raw intensity, while guitarist Tuomas Lepistö’s vocals add a unique flavor to select tracks. The addition of a second guitarist Mika Kähärä from Pieksämäki has brought depth and diversity to their sound, enriching the sonic tapestry woven by this dynamic outfit.

Torch The Children” ignites the “Sons Of Alaheim” EP with a powerful raw thrash sound, immediately grabbing listeners with its rasp-growling vocals and chaining guitar riffs. The song wastes no time delivering a dynamic and captivating soundscape, reminiscent of vintage Slayer demos.
