Exploding onto the metal scene in 2019, Finnish power metal band METAL DE FACTO made their debut with “Imperium Romanum,” a full-length album featuring a theme-driven collection of songs about Ancient Rome that exuded bombastic nostalgia for old-school power metal. These fresh yet familiar tracks quickly captured the attention of metal listeners worldwide, notably with the first single “The Conqueror” amassing over 200,000 video views and over 600,000 streams on various platforms.
In early 2020, the band hosted their inaugural headlining show in Helsinki, drawing fans from around the world to a packed On the Rocks club. This success propelled the band to continue performing live, including opening for prominent metal acts such as ENSIFERUM and BEAST IN BLACK.
The lineup comprises guitarists Esa Orjatsalo (ex-DREAMTALE) and Mikko Salovaara (KIUAS), bassist Sami Hinkka (ENSIFERUM, ssSHhh), keyboardist Benji Klint-Connelly (EVERFROST), and drummer Atte Marttinen (ex-KIVIMETSÄN DRUIDI). However, in 2022, it was announced that former vocalist Mikael Salo (ex-THY ROW, ex-DYECREST) would no longer be part of the band. On the same day, the new vocalist, Aitor Arrastia from Spain, was revealed along with details about the band’s upcoming second full-length album, “Land of the Rising Sun Part 1,” themed around Japanese culture.
“Tame The Steel” is the third single from the upcoming album, characterized by its powerful sound influenced by bands like JUDAS PRIEST. The guitars cut through like a knife, and the catchy chorus invites sing-alongs. It is another immersive and potent journey with a compelling narrative, epic prowess, and a timeless essence of power metal, further fueling anticipation for their forthcoming concept album, “Land Of The Rising Sun – Part I.”
“Land of the Rising Sun pt. I” will be released on February 9th, 2024, in CD Jewel Case, Vinyl Black and Transparent Splatter Vinyl.
