On March 9th, 2024, there was a doom metal night at Turku’s Nirvana club. The crowd started gathering early to enjoy some slow, heavy riffs and intense headbanging.
The first band of the night was I, CAPTAIN, a local band from Turku known for their slow doom sound with a pinch of psychedelic rock. With over 10 years of stage presence, they have released 3 albums and 3 EPs. In Turku, they delivered a solid and highly enjoyable set that got the crowd swaying to the music and headbanging; a little something for everyone.
Next up was another Turku-based band, MALAMUTE, specializing in stoner prog metal and hard rock. For the next 40 minutes, the audience enjoyed intricate riffs and a great display of technical abilities.
To close the night, KING OF NONE took to the stage, and it was immediately evident that this band was simply having fun. Their energy was contagious, and in no time, everybody was headbanging along to their catchy pieces. Overall, their performance was fantastic, with amazing vibes and a top-tier musical experience.
