On September 5th, 2023, Finnish POETS OF THE FALL hit Metropol in Berlin as part of their European Tour. Finnish rock/symphonic rock band POETS OF THE FALL arrived in one of Berlin’s fanciest venues Metropol, that initially was an operetta theatre. Fans crowded the first floor and the balconies section in wait for their idols to appear on stage.
Unfortunately, the show had a delay of thirty minutes and a countdown began ten minutes before the opening. They chose “Revelations” as their opener, followed by “Locking Up the Sun.” In between songs, lead singer Marko Saaresto sat at the edge of the stage, interacting with the crowd and singing to them in his deep and melancholic voice. The fans knew the lyrics by heart and chanted along with “Illusion & Dream.”
Although the mood had a shade of sadness and romanticism, the musicians had fun on stage, particularly Olli Tukiainen and Jani Snellman who were jumping around, posing, and smiling. What’s interesting, in the second act they performed “Desire” in acoustic first time since December 2013. They closed the set with the iconic “Carnival of Rust.” Check out our photo gallery here…
