On a chilly November night in Antwerp’s Trix on November 27th, 2025, a wave of nostalgia washed over fans old and new as THE RASMUS stepped onto the stage as part of their Weirdo Tour. It was a show that felt like a celebration of nearly three decades of rock. From early club-room beginnings to arenas and festivals around the world.
The evening started with BLOCK OF FLATS, who brought a fresh surge of raw alternative rock energy to the stage. Their sound mixed gritty guitar riffs with big, catchy choruses that immediately roused the crowd. Hailing from Finland, they balance indie-tinged punch and modern rock swagger with hints of electronic texture. This was making their set both dynamic and memorable. From the first notes of tracks like “Darkest Days,” they ignited the room and got fans moving, proving why they are masters of modern-day rock. Their youthful intensity and infectious hooks set the tone perfectly for the night ahead.
THE FUNERAL PORTRAIT followed with a theatrical burst of emo-infused rock, blending punk drive, heartfelt lyrics, and dramatic hooks into a performance that resonated deeply with the audience. The band from Atlanta has crafted a sound that channels both raw emotional catharsis and anthemic power, drawing on influences from post-hardcore and alt-rock scenes. Frontman Lee Jennings commanded the stage with bold presence and charisma. Walking and kicking around with high energy. At the same time, turning each song into an energetic call-and-response moment with the crowd. Their set was high on both intensity and crowd engagement. Leaving the audience ready for the headliners.
Headliners of the evening, the Finnish THE RASMUS have grown from teenage rockers into masters of alternative rock with dark melodic hooks and catchy choruses. This evening in Antwerp was both a look back and a step forward. The evening brought us powerful new tracks from their 2025 album, “Weirdo,” such as “Rest in Pieces” and “Break These Chains.” Showing off their new work with fresh intensity and a modern vibe. However, the highlights of this evening were those classics like “Guilty” and “No Fear,” which made the audience sing and vibe along. It felt like a celebration of old times. The band has a splendid live show. The evening ended with the strong track: “In the Shadows.” For many who came, it was an evening of nostalgia. Reliving a little piece of the past.
