The Polish death metal legends, DECAPITATED, arrived at Sala Mon in Madrid on March 26th, 2024, after a successful stint in Bilbao and two sold-out shows in Portugal, indicating the great moment the band is experiencing. The band brought support acts KASSOGTHA, NERVOSA, and INCANTATION.
The Swiss band KASSOGTHA opened the evening with strength, showing their improvement and consolidation in a live performance. NERVOSA presented mainly songs from their two most recent albums in their set. The drummer Gabriela Abud demonstrated her skill on the drums, while Emmelie Herwegh stood out on the bass. However, guitarists Helena Kotina and Prika Amaral showed some disparity in their performances, generating mixed feelings about the band’s future in this new phase.
INCANTATION delivered an overwhelming and visceral performance, reminding us why they are an essential band in classic death metal. Despite some sound issues initially, the band offered a complete set that delighted the fans, showing that their old-school sound has no rivals.
DECAPITATED celebrated the 20 (+ 2) years of the historic “Nihility” on their tour, offering a fantastic and overwhelming show. They divided the show into two acts, playing “Nihility” in its entirety in the first act, followed by many of their “hits” in the second act. The vocalist Rasta delivered a notable performance, paying a fair tribute to the band’s legacy. The audience was ecstatic after one of the best shows of the year. DECAPITATED promised to return with their next work after a successful performance. Check our photo gallery of the evening here
