On May 21st, 2026, we had a chance to see three great thrash metal bands in Turku’s Nirvana club: BRAINTERROR, ENEMYNSIDE, and PRESTIGE.
The first band of the night was BRAINTERROR, a group well-known to the local music scene. The extremely skilled quartet of metallers played some of their own songs and concluded with their debut single, “No Sense of Direction.” Next, we welcomed ENEMYNSIDE to the stage, a five-piece from Rome. Their contact with the audience was impeccable, and the music they played was properly gritty and fast, just like thrash metal should be. They came to us to promote their new EP, “In the Shadows of Unrest,” which merges their classic thrash metal sound with some more melancholic tunes. The headliner of the night was PRESTIGE, a band from Tampere present on the stages of Europe since 1987, bordering on legendary status. They returned to playing live in 2021 with their LP “Reveal the Ravage” and haven’t stopped since.
