The self-titled Scandinavian action metal powerhouse MØRKET have been a household name in the Finnish metal scene since their debut “Musta luonto,” released in 2015. On Saturday, April 21st, 2026, it was time to celebrate the 10-year anniversary of the highly acclaimed debut album. To support MØRKET on the late April evening was QWÄLEN, the black metal messiahs from Oulu.
Since the release of “Musta Luonto,” MØRKET have switched singers, and the current vocalist Erik Sigvard revealed during their show that he has never performed these older songs with the band. However, MØRKET delivered their set with confidence and their trademark energy, and the “Musta luonto” songs got a fresh new look in the hands of the MØRKET of today. The band began by playing “Musta luonto” for the whole length of about 40 minutes and then some newer hit songs like “Kirottu maa” to top up the evening. The crowd seemed pleased with the service it got from the band.
The evening’s opener, QWÄLEN, delivered an angry and raw show on a darkened stage with some pretty visuals on the video screen. QWÄLEN gave the audience filling up the hall at Kuudes Linja a good stirring, even though most of the audience appeared to be waiting for the main act. QWÄLEN sports some anti-fascist political views, which also makes them a good combo with MØRKET, who are also known to give the finger to nazis in the metal scene.
All-in-all, the night was one well worth the 10-year travel MØRKET have made since their debut. Check our our photos below…
