It was a fantastic old-school night, on January 20th, 2024, appropriately titled The Night of Flaming Metal Systems, at Lepakkomies, featuring ANGEL SWORD, CARDINALS FOLLY, and VIESTI (formerly known as AURORA).
First on stage was the enigmatic VIESTI, a local band born from the recently disbanded AURORA. They captured the audience’s attention with their classic doom sound and the vocalist’s frequent strolls in front of the stage. The band left a positive impression, serving as a perfect warm-up for the more flamboyant “psychotic heavy doom” ensemble CARDINALS FOLLY. Having recently released their sixth full-length album, “Live By The Sword,” the night heated up as they presented a mix of old and new material, delivering an engaging performance that even featured a bodysurfing enthusiast towards the end of the show.
Ultimately, ANGEL SWORD sealed the success of the evening with their trademark rough heavy metal sound and the confidence of a band that knows how to command the stage. Enthusiastic fans, some of whom traveled from the north of the country, added to the atmosphere by singing along to the band’s most popular songs and screaming their lungs out. As the night concluded, it became evident that time had flown by, a clear sign that people thoroughly enjoyed themselves. It’s easy to lose track of time when you’re immersed in great music, raising your fist in the air with a beer in the other hand. Check our photo gallery here…
