It was just a bit over a year ago that we saw LAMP OF MURMUUR in Utrecht, opening for SPECTRAL WOUND in their European tour. Now touring in Finland, we found them again, this time supporting DÖDSRIT for a heated Tuesday night at On The Rocks on May 19th, 2026, for the first leg of their Regal Vengeance tour. It’s also the second time in a month that we see the guitarist from DÖDSRIT live, having performed at a “secret show” at this year’s Roadburn with DOODSWENS (also kind of funny when you think the same guy plays in “death rite” and “death wish”…).

But let’s get back to the first band of the night, LAMP OF MURMUUR, who opened up the ceremonies in front of an already pretty full venue. The very recently relocated one-man project, born from the mind of M, offered an overview of its discography, with the latest “The Dreaming Prince in Ecstasy” taking center stage. The performance was as good as the response from the audience, who gave a proper welcome in what was only the second show in Finland, counting the previous day’s gig in Tampere.

After the changeover, with the addition of the band’s banners on the sides of the stage, it was DÖDSRIT‘s turn. The Swedish/Dutch band had a show heavily focused on their last record, “Nocturnal Will,” and compared to the previous show alternated bursts of energy in their trademark black/crust style to enveloping riffs riding through their songs, slowing down the rhythm, building an atmosphere akin to a rollercoaster ride.

While some parts of the audience seemed to have enjoyed one band rather than the other, one thing is for sure: On The Rocks was pretty packed and sweaty for a Tuesday night!
