Every year, we head down to Borre in Norway to attend the mystical Midgardsblot Festival, one of the highlights of our summer! This year, Midgardsblot Festival took place from August 14th, 2024 to August 17th, 2024. As per usual, Midgardsblot boasted a diverse lineup with bands like AMON AMARTH, GRAND MAGUS, KALANDRA, VADER, GÅTE, EMPEROR, TESTAMENT, and many more!
I started the second day of Midgardsblot with Polish death metal veterans, VADER, who unleashed a relentless barrage of speed and aggression. Their set was a masterclass in precision, with brutal riffs that had the crowd headbanging. VADER‘s performance was a reminder of their status as legends in the extreme metal scene.
After that, it was time for the Swedish folk project, HINDARFJÄLL, who took GÅTE‘s place in the schedule. I discovered HINDARFJÄLL two years ago at Midgardsblot, and I was already impressed by their professionalism and amazing sound, but I have to admit that their performance keeps getting more and more impressive. Their set began with warriors in full armor entering the stage with shields and swords. Additionally, HINDARFJÄLL had a special guest during their set: actor Peter Franzen, well-known for his role as King Harald Finehair in the popular TV series Vikings.
Finally, the night closed with the thrash metal titans TESTAMENT. Their set was high-energy, packed with classic tracks and crowd favorites. The band’s tight performance and charismatic stage presence brought the day to a powerful close. Overall, the second day of Midgardsblot was a blend of the old and the new, offering something for every metal and folk fan. Check our photo gallery here…
