Puska is a DIY-based metal music festival arranged yearly at the top of the Taivaskallio hill in Helsinki. The festival has traditionally arranged an afterparty with some interesting bands as well. This year, the afterparty took place at Lepakkomies premises on Saturday, July 12th, 2025.

This year, the afterparty was opened by the punk act SÄÄDÖT. As the main event at Taivaskallio had only just ended, the night opened with the crowd only starting to pour in. This didn’t slow the band down, as they rocked the night away. The themes of their songs range from feminism to love stories with a twist. SÄÄDÖT dished out a good, energetic show to the slowly filling cave at Lepakkomies.

Next up was NIGHTSTRYKE, who served the audience a dose of classic heavy metal. The band might not have invented the genre anew, but there’s a lot to like about a good tradition-wise heavy band. The lead harmonies and the riding flow with some heroic soloing will do the job every time.

Then, for some additional speed, it was time for VINCENT REVENGE to take the stage with their speed metal show. The band released their first album last year and has got some positive attention – and not without cause. The approach here is quite retro as well, bowing towards the metal of ’70s and ’80s. The speed is furious, and the players can deliver!

Last up was AZATHOTH, a death metal act that was the heaviest act of the evening. Their dark, occult approach to death metal was a good way to enter the darkening night. The band drew a good crowd and delivered a show that got the audience to do some moshing and fist-pumping, as the evening came to a close. Check our photos of the afterparty below…
