Helsinki Psych Fest has been a hallmark of psychedelic music in the Finnish capital for years. However, for this year’s new edition, the festival was downscaled a bit and renamed Love Potion Psych Fest. It took place at the cozy Playhouse Bar in the old industrial surroundings of Vallila, Helsinki, on Friday and Saturday, October 10th and 11th, 2023.
Friday featured a set opening with the orient-influenced blues sounds of EMOLA-HATSINA STRING BAND. After them, the stage was taken by the experimental Americana sounds of BUKO SHANE, the progressive rock outing of THE FËRTILITY CÜLT, and the more retro-leaning FROM GROTTO. The evening came to an end with Danish visitors ØRESUND SPACE COLLECTIVE and their improvisation-based neverending musical magic. Check our photos of the festival’s first day here…
