Mystic Festival 2024: A truly happy Halloween

We’ve embraced the Halloween mood, so we’re opening the gates of hell, peeking into graveyards and galloping around the Wild West with the ghosts. GRAVEYARD, MYSTICUM, LAMP OF MURMUUR, and WAYFARER join the Mystic Festival 2024 program.

Graveyard

It’s quite nice in this GRAVEYARD. A psychedelic fog floats here, blues weeds grow there, but hard rock dominates. By no means dead – alive and fresh, as if some spell had stopped us in 1970. This magic is called music, and the Swedish quartet master it matchlessly. The proof is this year’s album “6,” called “a masterclass in psychedelic light and shade” by the Classic Rock reviewer, but above all, always electrifying shows.

Mysticum

Cosmic black metal with a cold, industrial aftertaste. At the same time faithful to the principles of the Norwegian revolution, unleashed at the dawn of the ’90s, also by MYSTICUM. “Planet Satan,” the title of their album from a decade ago, says it all. MYSTICUM walk proudly down their own path, imitating no one and beyond the reach of imitators. And their shows… Sorry, it can’t be described, it has to be experienced.

Lamp of Murmuur

Hymns of Death – this is a quote from the title of one of the tracks from “Saturnian Bloodstorm,” this year’s album by LAMP OF MURMUUR, and at the same time a perfect recapitulation of the work of M. LAMP OF MURMUUR’s new material has shifted accents – there’s less despair, more crushing power in this music – but one thing remains the same. We are dealing with one of the most prominent representatives of the American school of black metal.

Wayfarer

Since back in the days the Wild West was covered with corpses, today the land must be inhabited by crowds of ghosts. They are being summoned by WAYFARER, a quartet from Colorado that sensitively blends atmospheric black metal with grim Americana. Their latest album, “American Gothic,” is a fascinating journey through time and space.
