THE ARISTOCRATS‘ guitarist Guthrie Govan will perform in Finland as part of YIORGOS FAKANAS GROUP in October.
The power quartet will bring their explosive and invigorating take on jazz fusion to audiences for the first time in Finland. Yiorgos Fakanas, Greece’s most esteemed bass player, first shared the stage with the inimitable guitarist Guthrie Govan in 2012 at Athina Live in Athens. It was clear to the audience and performers that this was a powerful collaboration that must be repeated. Guthrie and Yiorgos played together again in 2017, this time with a full line-up comprising Dimitris Sevdalis on keyboards and Menios Pasialis on drums. The vibe between the players was so good they planned to put together a tour as soon as possible, resulting in nine shows around Greece and Italy and culminating in the recording of a live album at Athina Live just a few months later.
Fans attending the upcoming shows will be treated to a powerful musical explosion from this group of virtuosos and can expect to enjoy demanding compositions, vitality, technique, humor, and joy. The live album “The nest…LIVE IN ATHENS” is a double CD that will be available to purchase at the shows and the band recommends it should be played at full volume!
