On October 9th, 2025, the Finnish melodic death metal powerhouse BLOODRED HOURGLASS tore through Berlin’s Cassiopeia and showed everyone how they make any night an awesome experience with their music. The venue was packed, hot, and buzzing. Even though the place was small, the sound was massive, and the band played like pros.

Opening the night were LUNA KILLS, a modern metal quartet from Finland who brought a darker, pop-laced edge to the stage. They played songs like “SADIST,” “hallucinate,” and “burn the world with me,” which mix catchy tunes with a dark vibe. LUNA KILLS’ performance was fierce and polished; vocalist Lotta Ruutiainen dominated the room with charisma and a voice that cut clean through the mix. It was a solid warm-up, the kind that gets the crowd hyped rather than drained.

Then came BLOODRED HOURGLASS, starting strong with “The Crown Is Permanent” and “In Lieu of Flowers.” From the first note, the band emitted a mix of rage and precision that’s uniquely theirs. The show was a non-stop barrage of heavy melodic tracks, like “Of Course I Still Love You,” “Nightmares Are Dreams Too,” and “Drag Me the Rain,” which were all played perfectly. The crowd shouted along to “God Has Favourites” and “Veritas,” while the emotional “How’s the Heart?” added a reflective pause before the encore. Each member brought their own controlled chaos to the stage. Vocalist Jaredi Koukonen was pure force, effortlessly switching between snarls and cleans. Guitarists Lauri and Eero Silvonen and Joni Lahdenkauppi traded riffs like they were fighting for fresh air, while bassist Jose Moilanen anchored everything with precision. By the time they closed with “Shun the Limelight” and “We Should Be Buried Like This,” the crowd was drenched, smiling, and utterly spent. BLOODRED HOURGLASS delivered exactly what people came for: a tight, emotionally charged performance that reminded everyone why Finland keeps churning out metal bands like it’s a national export strategy. It was a night of sweat, riffs, and shared liberation. Check our photo gallery here…
