On March 6th, 2026, the cultural venue Porvoon Taidetehdas hosted the shining star of Finnish melodic death metal act known as BLOODRED HOURGLASS, who had just launched their fresh tour with this show. The evening began with a set by THORN as a warm-up act.

Unfortunately, we only managed to catch the final moments of THORN’s performance. Even from that brief glimpse, we could observe that the band was a fitting choice to warm up the stage for the headliner. Their sound and stage presence aligned naturally with the musical territory occupied by BLOODRED HOURGLASS, and the audience response suggested the set had already been well received.

When BLOODRED HOURGLASS took the stage later in the evening, we saw the band deliver their characteristic blend of melodic death metal, with a refreshing and overhauled choice of songs. The setlist leaned toward the band’s more recent material while also including much-requested selections from earlier releases.

Although the concert hall at Taidetehdas is relatively compact, we found the setting to be comfortable and almost living-room-like in atmosphere, although the bar-counter could’ve been positioned more wisely from the side of the stage. The close proximity between the stage and the crowd helped maintain a direct connection throughout the show. We could also observe that the audience remained notably enthusiastic and active for the duration of the performance, contributing to the overall intensity of the evening.
