The death metal night on January 6th, 2023, at Utopia gathered local heavy music enthusiasts from all over Turku to enjoy the performance of three bands: WRETCHED PATH, DEVENIAL VERDICT, and ENRAGEMENT.
WRETCHED PATH warmed up the quickly gathering crowds with their heavy riffs and crushing drums, setting the tone for the night. Vocalist Esa Salminen put on an incredible performance, his deep growls and screams adding an extra layer of intensity to the already explosive sound.
Then, DEVENIAL VERDICT took to the stage and brought a slightly different take on death metal, somewhat more theatrical, with the band members in hoods and vocalist Riku Saressalo in an embellished mask. Their style can be described as atmospheric death metal and one can definitely hear that. They totally stole the evening with their brutal riffs and clever breakdowns.
The headliner, ENRAGEMENT, never disappoints. They delivered a powerful set that kept the crowd engaged. The band’s sound was thick and heavy, with crushingly powerful riffs and thunderous drums that made it impossible not to get caught up in the energy of the music.
