On September 5th, 2024, we had the chance to experience some great live death metal at Utopia club in Turku as CRYPTIC HATRED, SHADE EMPIRE, and OCTOBER TIDE were set to play.
The evening kicked off with a performance by CRYPTIC HARTED, a promising Finnish death metal band fresh off the release of their second album, “Internal Torment,” earlier this year. They got the audience nicely warmed up for what was to come next.
The second band of the night was SHADE EMPIRE, a symphonic death metal band renowned for their epic sound. And I can assure you, their music live sounds just as epic, and their performances attract a very enthusiastic crowd of metal connoisseurs. They released their latest album, “Sunholy,” last year and played the title track, “Sunholy,” live to the loud approval of the audience. Their live performances are always a highlight.
The headliner of the night was OCTOBER TIDE, founded by the ex-guitarist of KATATONIA, a Swedish death-doom metal band with a long-standing reputation in the Nordic metal scene. They delivered a solid performance, with heavy, impressive riffs echoing off the walls, making it a truly memorable experience. Check our gallery here…
