GALLERY: 31.3.2024 – Day 4 – Inferno Metal Festival @ Rockefeller & John Dee, Oslo

As the final night of the Inferno Festival hit Oslo’s Rockefeller and John Dee venues, a palpable sense of anticipation hung in the air. On the last day, March 31st, 2024, the festival’s lineup featured the diverse sounds of FINNTROLL, BELL WITCH, KOLDBRANN, and TAAKE headlining the night.

The evening began for me with the folk-infused sounds of FINNTROLL, Finnish masters of folk metal, that aroused great enthusiasm among the festival audience who started moshing and dancing. Next up was BELL WITCH, an American duo known for their minimalist sound of doom metal. After BELL WITCH, KOLDBRANN hit the stage at John Dee with their fierce Norwegian black metal, igniting chaos among the crowd. KOLDBRANN, with their energy and great stage presence, was definitely a highlight of the day for me.

As the night progressed, TAAKE took the stage, ready to unleash their infernal fury upon the faithful gathered before them. With their razor-sharp riffs and venomous growls, the Norwegian titans delivered a performance that was as mesmerizing as it was malevolent, casting a shadow of darkness over the venue with their unholy incantations. As the night went on, TAAKE took over, unleashing their intense Norwegian metal. Their powerful performance captivated the audience by playing classics such as “Nordbundet,” “Hordalands Doedskvad I,” and “Nattestid Ser Porten Vid I.” As the final notes of TAAKE’s set faded into the night, the four-day journey into darkness and extreme black metal sounds came to an end. See you next year, Inferno!
