ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS celebrated their album “Unyielding Night” release at On the Rocks on July 27, 2024. Released via Seek & Strike on July 22nd, “Unyielding Night” has already begun making waves in the metal community, and the band’s release show promised to be something not to be missed.
The evening kicked off with LIGHTBEARER, a band previously unknown to me, yet they managed to draw a sizable crowd early on. While their music didn’t particularly stand out to me, their live performance was engaging, compensating for any shortcomings in their songs. LIGHTBEARER delivered one of the most energetic shows I’ve seen this year, demonstrating great potential. I’m certain this won’t be the last time I’ll see these guys on stage.
Next up were the more familiar IA, whom I was experiencing live for the first time. They offered progressive metal with pagan influences. Bathed in UV light, their set was a challenge to capture on camera, yet I managed to snap some amazing photos. Barefooted vocalist, Kirill Shevchenko, and the drummer, Ukri Suvilehto, also known from ABBATH, engaged beautifully with the camera, overcoming the challenges posed by the intense lighting.
The main event of the night, ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS, delivered one of the most chilling and memorable live shows I’ve seen in a while. Their performance felt like a cinematic journey through their new album, “Unyielding Night,” and the audience was visibly captivated, showering the band with praise throughout the set. The only way to elevate the experience further would be to have a full symphonic orchestra accompanying the band. Check our photos of the event below…
