Day two of WTF Capital of Metal on May 23rd, 2025, leaned hard into celebration mode—specifically, the 20th anniversary of KIUAS’ iconic album “The Spirit of Ukko.” To honor the milestone, KIUAS took the stage at Tavastia to perform the album in full, and judging by the crowd’s reaction, it hit just as hard as it did two decades ago (or, if you’re like me, when you discovered it way too late).
But before we got all nostalgic, deathcore wrecking crew KNEEL BEFORE THE DEATH set the mood with a crushing opening set that made sure nobody in the room had clean hearing afterward.
Then came BRYMIR, the melodic death metal masters who brought more than just blast beats—they brought props. Yes, the legendary fish pit made a triumphant return, and this time it had a friend: a nugget pit, inspired by their track “Wings of Fire.” Because when in doubt, throw food-themed plushies into a crowd of metalheads.
