In Finland’s metal circles, midsummer is very well known for being the time of year where metalheads head to Kauhajoki to celebrate some juhannus madness at Nummirock. We headed out to the festival from June 21st until June 24th, 2023. This year’s Nummirock had a wonderful lineup with STAM1NA, BEAST IN BLACK, and BEHEMOTH as headliners. While local legends like BRYMIR, BLOODRED HOURGLASS, and TURMION KÄTILÖT solidified the lineup, acts like BLOODYWOOD, ABORTED, and ASKING ALEXANDRIA were a breathe of fresh air on the festival’s roster.
The first day of Nummirock generally acts as a warm-up to the festival proper. Not including too many bands, the lineup included, among others, the NUMMIROCK ENSEMBLE, KALMAH, MORS SUBITA, and ELVENKING. Check out our photo gallery here…
