Making their inaugural appearance in Finland to a packed house, SIGNS OF THE SWARM descended upon On the Rocks, Helsinki, on April 2nd, 2024, bringing with them the latest in deathcore trends. But before the night’s headliner took the stage, two local acts set the tone for an evening of relentless energy.
Kicking off the proceedings were KNEEL BEFORE THE DEATH, veterans since their inception in 2013 with the release of “In Death We Trust.” Following them, ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS ignited the crowd with their familiar sound, setting the stage for the eagerly anticipated headliner.
Finally, the moment arrived as SIGNS OF THE SWARM took command of the night. Despite multiple lineup changes during their career, the band has consistently delivered fresh content since their inception in 2014, culminating in their fifth album, “Amongst the Low & Empty,” released last July. Their performance ignited never-ending mosh pits and an unexpected amount of crowd surfing, much to the frustration of the venue’s security.
The evening concluded with an electrifying finale, leaving me craving more of the raw intensity witnessed from SIGNS OF THE SWARM. If only every show could promise such an immersive experience as this unforgettable headlining performance.
