On November 19th, 2024, Landmark Club in Bergen became the epicenter of atmospheric chaos as the black metal band HULDER delivered an unforgettable performance. Organized by Perfect Sounds Forever, the event drew a crowd, packing the venue to its limits with nearly all of the local metalheads and immersing attendees in a near-ritualistic experience.
HULDER opened with the haunting track “An Offering,” immediately showing their raw yet melodic intensity. The crowd, a mix of dedicated fans and curious newcomers, headbanged to every beat. The band’s set continued with “Sown in Barren Soil” and “Verses in Oath,” showcasing pure darkness, and effective atmospheres with aggressive instrumentation. Each song built upon the last, plunging the audience deeper into HULDER‘s sonic abyss. The performance reached its climax with the final sounds of “Vessel of Suffering.” HULDER‘s stage presence and old-school black metal image is something that I (and many others) wish to see more often.
