Every year, we head down to Borre in Norway to attend the mystical Midgardsblot Festival, one of the highlights of our summer! This year, Midgardsblot Festival took place from August 14th, 2024 to August 17th, 2024. As per usual, Midgardsblot boasted a diverse lineup with bands like AMON AMARTH, GRAND MAGUS, KALANDRA, VADER, GÅTE, EMPEROR, TESTAMENT, and many more!
The final day of Midgardsblot on August 17th delivered a powerful and diverse musical experience, blending blues, folk, and metal performances that resonated with the festival’s rich historical context.
First up was LINDY-FAY HELLA & DEI FARNE, who brought an ethereal and enchanting set that showcased her signature blend of folk and ambient music. Her haunting vocals created a mystical experience that held the audience spellbound.
LEDFOOT followed, offering a contrasting but equally intense performance with his dark, blues-infused music. His raw vocals and guitar as the only instrument delivered a powerful and emotional set that felt both timeless and deeply personal, resonating with the crowd on a profound level.
As evening fell, BEL CANTO took the stage, blending electronic and ethereal pop elements with their unique Norwegian touch.
After BEL CANTO, we returned to more folk sounds thanks to ELDRIM, whose performance was rooted in traditional Nordic folk music. Their use of ancient instruments created an atmosphere that transported the audience to a time of Norse legends and rituals.
The night concluded with EMPEROR, the legendary Norwegian black metal band. Their performance was nothing short of monumental, delivering a masterful set that reaffirmed their status as icons of the genre. The intensity and precision of their music, combined with the dark, majestic atmosphere they created, made for a thrilling and unforgettable finale.
The last day of Midgardsblot 2024 was a perfect blend of the old and the new, the ethereal and the extreme, leaving the audience with memories of a powerful and diverse musical experience. Check our photo gallery here…
