On October 17th, 2025, we had a chance to see the legends of Finnish folk metal ENSIFERUM live at Turku’s Logomo club. The band visits Turku regularly and each time delivers a great show. They consistently prove themselves to be a very well-oiled machine, transforming each of their gigs into a celebratory and energetic event. One can see that after over 30 years on stage, they’re still happy to be performing together.
On this tour, ENSIFERUM are supported by ASSEMBLE THE CHARIOTS, a deathcore band from Helsinki. Their music is powerful and conceptually rich, and if you combine that with explosive stage energy, you get a great warm-up before the main act.
ENSIFERUM started their set with “Winter Storm Vigilantes,” followed by “Token of Time” and an absolute blast from their latest album, “Winter Storm”: “Fatherland.” The setlist consisted of both old and new songs, delivering a perfect blend of the band’s history. A significant part of each ENSIFERUM show is the seemingly infinite joyous energy of the band members. Bassist Sami Hinkka runs across the stage like an absolute madman, and if he’s not running, he’s headbanging and just genuinely having fun. The guitarist Markus Toivonen couldn’t stop smiling throughout the entire gig, and vocalist and guitarist Petri Lindroos also looked like he was having a great time, delivering intricate riffs. Honestly, so were we, dozens of people at a quite crowded Teatro. It was a great evening full of good vibes and top-tier folk metal. Check our photo gallery here…
