On November 15th, 2023, American rock music took over the German capital with BLACK VEIL BRIDES and HALESTORM.

BLACK VEIL BRIDES were once known for their use of black makeup, body paint, tight black studded clothing, and long hair, all inspired by the stage personas of KISS and MÖTLEY CRÜE. However, that is now a relic of the past; they are more grounded and polished. When vocalist Andy Biersack entered the stage, the women in the audience exploded. The charisma of his band members also captured attention as they opened with “Crimson Skies” and followed by “Rebel Love Song.” Their sound was a deep dive into the 2010s romantic metalcore era.

HALESTORM was truly a storm. Frontwoman Lizzy Hale was a force of nature, rocking pigtails with high heels and a glittering guitar. She entered the stage screaming, “Raise your horns / Raise ’em high.” They opened with the iconic “I Miss The Misery,” and Lizzy‘s voice was so intense at times that the microphone couldn’t comprehend the sheer power of it. Her brother, Arejay Hale, on drums, showcased his talent with a very long drum solo. Guitarist Joe Hottinger jammed with Lizzy, and bassist Josh Smith was vibing. All of them had chemistry with each other and with the audience. Lizzy shared a story about getting a tattoo in Berlin many years ago. The most emotional moment of the show was the acoustic version of “Dear Daughter / Shatter Me,” with Lizzy performing on piano. The band is phenomenal and served as a reminder that rock is still alive and well and kicks ass. Check our photo gallery here…
