On Wednesday, October 15th, 2025, Poppodium 013 in Tilburg became a haven for heavy riffs and hypnotic grooves. The evening opened with Massachusetts-born (now Berlin-based) ELDER, who set the tone with their signature mix of doom-laden heaviness and sprawling, psychedelic soundscapes. Their performance unfolded through minutes-long solos, thunderous bass lines, and guitar work that seemed to stretch time itself. Each track is built on waves of distortion and melody, drawing the audience into an almost meditative trance. While some moments dipped into familiar stoner-rock territory, the sheer weight and texture of ELDER’S sound made for an enthralling start to the night.
When ALL THEM WITCHES took over, the energy shifted from dense and driving to expansive and deeply atmospheric. The Nashville quartet replaced brute force with groove, weaving blues-infused piano lines, hazy psych textures, and simmering stoner-rock rhythms into something truly captivating. Opening with “Bulls” and sliding straight into the electrifying “Enemy of My Enemy,” the band immediately had the crowd in their grip. It was one of those sets where everything clicked—each member having their moment to shine, the lighting adding a visual pulse to the music, and the audience moving together in a shared, collective flow.
Their setlist drew from across their catalogue, ensuring that every fan had that “Oh wow, they’re playing this one!” moment. Midway through, “Diamonds” stood out as a highlight—an absolute masterclass in atmosphere and dynamics. The combination of lights, sound, and band chemistry transformed the venue into something almost otherworldly. From that point on, ALL THEM WITCHES didn’t need to prove anything. The room was theirs, and the audience was fully along for the ride.
The night as a whole was a perfect balance: opening with ELDERS’ raw, seismic power—riffs that rumbled through the chest—and closing with ALL THEM WITCHES’ hypnotic, groove-laden journey, where rock, blues, and psychedelia merged into a sustained, transcendent mood. I tried to capture that contrast and connection through the photos. Check out the gallery here…
