Time for another event, this time in Turku! We went to see BESRA, RÜCKWATER, and CRANEIUM, some of Finland’s finest acts, at Utopia on October 15th, 2021.
Post-metal band BESRA was established in 2014. The 5-piece has shared the stage with artists such as CALLISTO, CASSIE, YLEISLAKKO, RITES OF THE YOUTH, and WHILE I’M ALIVE, so naturally, we wanted to see what the buzz was all about. The act played a steady show and had gathered quite a crowd already as people came to Utopia right from the start to witness the first show of the evening.
With a decade of dirty riffing and three EPs under their belt, stoner rock trio RÜCKWATER released their debut effort, “Supernova,” in 2020. We quite enjoyed their album last year, thus, it was only natural to check out their show at Utopia, it turned out to be our personal favorite from the evening; relentless stoner rock to knock your socks off!
For those who were hungry for even more music, the psychedelic fuzz-rock band CRANEIUM were topping off the evening with their release show for their latest album, “Unknown Heights.” Since the band was playing a hometown show, they gathered quite the audience as a hundred and fifty people were enjoying the concert, a nice amount for the venue’s size.
