Thursday, January 15th, 2026, was a fierce night of extreme and atmospheric metal that unfolded at Bibelot. This evening, 5 distinct forces from across Europe brought everything from ritual black metal to melodic fury. From symphonic opener to shadow-soaked headliners, this show was a journey through intensity, edge, and raw live performance.
The German SANITY kicked off the evening with a dramatic blend of symphonic metal rooted in black and death metal, layered with choirs, crashing riffs, and a mix of growled and clean vocals. Their theatrical sound set an epic tone and warmed the crowd up for what was to come.
HALLS OF OBLIVION was the second band of the evening. Serving up a powerful mix of melodic death and black metal. With melancholic atmospheres braided into aggressive bursts, their performance carried emotional weight while still hitting hard — a textured yet furious opener to the main bill.
Next up was the old-school blackened death metal from HATE. Rooted in decades of underground experience. As Polish metal veterans with a punishing sound and dark riffs, their set was both forceful and relentless. It let loose some visceral brutality and unyielding drive; a darker side of this night.
ARKONA stepped on stage to play a more pagan infused and folk-inflected metal. Yet dark, earthy melodies with fierce riffs and an immersive stage presence. Their performance was quite dark, both in feel and sight. Their lyrics are heavily influenced by Russian folklore, Slavic mythology, and show deep cultural roots through thunderous energy that stirred the crowd.
Finally, PATRIARKH closed the night with a ritualistic black metal spectacle — eerie liturgical chanting woven into crushing guitar waves. The band has its origins in BATUSHKA, from which it splintered after a conflict over the rights to the band name. Tonight they performed a fantastic show. Their lyrics and music are inspired by traditional hymns, history, and the Orthodox Church. Their mystical and theatrical delivery carried the show to a shadowed, unforgettable climax.
