For the past two years, the Finnish festival Metallivuori has been taking place in Sierravuori, however, its 2023 edition moved right next to the Uittamo Pavillion in Turku, a mere 2 kilometers away from the city center! We were excited to see the festival take place in its new habitat with bands like BEFORE THE DAWN, WOLFHEART, KIUAS, TURMION KÄTILÖT, STAM1NA, and many more!
The festival’s new area was more compact and after a little bit of exploring, we quite enjoyed it. The smaller stage was hosted inside of the pavilion and on Friday, it hosted four bands: TOIVO-OLAVI, ANTON JA KIPEET LAPSET, BLOODREDNAILS, and AVACIA. The main stage had acts planned like STONED STATUES, VERMILIA, XYSMA, and KIUAS. Finnish metal legends STAM1NA rounded out the first day’s lineup.
