In the fall of 2024 ENSIFERUM and SWALLOW THE SUN set off on a tour across Finland after both having released a new album this year.
On the December 13th, 2024, the first band to get on stage at the Teatro part of Turku’s Logomo was SWALLOW THE SUN. Clad in hoods and shrouded in shadow, not talking very much with the audience, the band let their music speak for itself. They leaned into their strengths: haunting, slow tempo and crushing heaviness, allowing every melancholic riff and guttural growl to resonate.
The second band of the night, ENSIFERUM, took to the stage with their unique blend of folk and power metal, delivering a high-energy performance that had the crowd roaring from start to finish. After opening with the anthemic “Fatherland,” they powered through favorites like “Victory Song” and “Lai Lai Hei,” having sheer, unfiltered fun while doing so. Check our photo gallery here…
