Resurrection Fest invited four modern metal juggernauts to Mon Live in Madrid on March 12th, 2024. The tickets for the Spanish tour had been sold out months in advance, and the lineup was definitely not one to miss: Japanese progressive metalcore act PALEDUSK, Australian heavy metal outfit THORNHILL, American metalcore act SILENT PLANET, and Australian metalcore giants POLARIS were scheduled for an unforgettable evening of metal.
The Japanese band PALEDUSK was the first to take the stage at Mon Live. Their energy, virtuosity, and, above all, their great music made the audience give their all, as in the last edition of Resurrection Fest. The elegant and brutal THORNHILL gave a memorable concert featuring songs like “Casanova” or their new single: “Obsession.”
SILENT PLANET was one of the highlights of the night. With their vocalist Garrett Russell at the front, they turned the place into a gigantic mosh pit, playing songs from their discography such as “Dreamwalker,” “Native Blood,” and “Antimatter.”
And finally, the stars of the night were set to perform: POLARIS. After five years without setting foot on Spanish soil (the last time was as the opening act for ARCHITECTS along with BEARTOOTH), POLARIS returned and did it in a big way as headliners. The Australian band stands out for its powerful riffs, but above all, for its deep lyrics, and frontman Jamie Hails transmits them perfectly live. For just over an hour, POLARIS played memorable anthems like “Landmine,” “Hypermania,” or “Martyr (Waves),” dedicated to Ryan Siew, their guitarist who passed away last year. They finished the concert with the great song “The Remedy.” It was an incredible night for metalcore fans; Resurrection Fest did it again. On behalf of all the fans of this music, thank you.
