GALLERY: 11.5.2024 Durbuy Rock Festival – DAY 2 @ Bomal-sur-Ourthe, Belgium

The cozy Durbuy Rock Festival took place in the charming village of Bomal-sur-Ourthe, near the medieval city of Durbuy, in the Province of Luxembourg, Wallonia, Belgium, on Friday, May 10th, and Saturday, May 11th, 2024. After a successful first day, the festival continued on Saturday with a heavier lineup throughout the day. Unfortunately, we missed the first two bands but joined the festival when ECHOES OF NIHIL took the stage, treating us to some nice grooves.

DISCONNECTED felt the need to start jumping and raising the energy in the hall, and the audience followed suit. It was quite an energetic show. With various thrash bands in the afternoon like INSANITY ALERT, SUICIDAL ANGELS, and EXHORDER, it felt like a perfect summer party, just how festivals are best enjoyed. The cozy atmosphere led to many friendly pits in front of the stages.

For fans of folk music, there were a few bands to enjoy: EQUILIBRIUM, FEUERSCHWANZ, and HEIDEVOLK. The singer from EQUILIBRIUM, Fabian Getto, has an amazing growl and lots of energy on stage, even daring to do a bit of crowd surfing! FEUERSCHWANZ left the fire at home but delivered a truly entertaining power metal show. They clearly know how to set the mood and throw a party while not taking themselves too seriously. Their cover of O-ZONE‘s “Dragostea Din Tei” was a great sing-along party in the crowd.

Those seeking more groove and power definitely enjoyed performances by THE RAVEN AGE and SONATA ARCTICA. The legendary KK’S PRIEST headlined Saturday and closed off the festival with an awesome show. So many guitar riffs were flying around! Dressed in leather pants, they brought a true party both on stage and off. Led by former JUDAS PRIEST guitarist and founding member K.K. Downing, the band mixed original material with JUDAS PRIEST classics. Check our photo gallery here…
