GHØSTKID‘s Hollywood Suicide Tour 2024 visited Finland twice to celebrate their new album, “Hollywood Suicide”: first at Lutakko in Jyväskylä on October 5th, 2024, and then a day later, on October 6th, 2024, at Tavastia in Helsinki.
The night in Helsinki was kicked off by the German modern metalcore band SETYØURSAILS. Having released their second album, “Bad Blood,” just 2 years after their debut, “Nightfall,” these musicians show no signs of slowing down. During the latter half of their set, Nicolai Hoch jumped into the audience to perform in the middle of the circling crowd. It was a pleasant surprise to witness such a well-executed performance from the first band of the night.
The second act was WITHIN DESTRUCTION from Slovenia, a band that has significantly evolved their music since their early days. They’ve been quite productive, releasing albums every few years since their formation. During the show, vocalist Rok Rupnik dived into the audience for some crowd surfing, although he couldn’t get far due to the limitations of the wired microphone.
The headliner of the night was, of course, GHØSTKID from Germany, who had also played at Lutakko, Jyväskylä, the day before, and at Tuska Festival during the summer of 2024. Early in the show, guitarist Jappo Van Glory repeated Nicolai‘s [SETYØURSAILS] move by heading into the audience to perform in the middle of the crowd, prompting a sea of phones to film the moment—so there are surely plenty of videos on social media already.
