Vocalist Daniël de Jongh (TEXTURES, CROWN COMPASS) will substitute vocalist David Pear during DEAR MOTHER‘s show on November 3rd in Helsinki, Finland. The band will share the stage with Nordic heroes, STAM1NA, DIABLO, and CORRODED.
The band was already preparing their performance, when it became clear that their vocalist, David Pear, wouldn’t be able to attend the Helsinki show due to private circumstances. Canceling their performance was never an option for the Dutch alternative metal act, so they had to figure out another solution.
“When we received the message that David couldn’t join us in Finland anymore, I was worried,” says guitarist Merel Bechtold, who founded the band with David in 2019. “David sings with great variety… loud, high, clean, distortion, grunts, you name it. And there’s also a lot of lyrics to remember, with limited moments to breathe. Where do you find someone who can do it all and doesn’t need oxygen…? Daniël de Jongh, of course!”
Daniël, known for his work with TEXTURES, has graced many stages in his life and is undoubtedly a worthy stand-in for this show. “I know him from my not-so-successful audition for Textures, haha!” Merel adds. “Ferry knows him from the time when Dreadlock Pussy and Smogus were active, and we’re incredibly lucky that Daniël is willing to help us out. And we will be eternally grateful to him!”
In 2021, DEAR MOTHER released their first studio album, “Bulletproof.” In addition to David Pear and Merel Bechtold, the band is completed by Ferry Duijsens, Desmond Kuijk, and Ruben Israel. Last summer, they released their new single, “UNBREAKABLE,” the first single from their upcoming EP, expected to be released in the spring of 2024. In 2024, the band will perform some exclusive shows in the Netherlands. More information about this will be provided later through DEAR MOTHER‘s website and social media, where you can also pre-order the EP.
