CORVIN is a new band emerging from the Italian scene, featuring members of ME AND THAT MAN, SHORES OF NULL, GUINEAPIG, and OTUS. The group focuses on a sound rooted in ’80s Gothic Rock, updated with a modern, heavier production.
The lead track, “Dead End Pyre,” feels notably relevant in today’s global landscape. Lyrically, it centers on the motif of a “world on fire,” capturing the perspective of those watching social structures crumble in real-time. The lyrics focus on the imagery of a “world on fire,” portraying a sense of witnessing a collapsing civilization from the inside. With Davide Straccione’s solemn vocal delivery and a deliberate, march-like rhythm section, the composition acts as a heavy meditation on modern-day unrest. Despite the bleak themes, the track is driven by a persistently infectious chorus that lingers long after the final note.
The official music video, a production by Underroom Studio, utilizes a minimalist black-and-white palette. By stripping away visual distractions, it emphasizes the band’s kinetic energy and the raw, unpolished nature of their performance.
Physical copies of the single will be available starting on March 20th. Pre-orders are currently open via the band’s official Bandcamp page.
