The lineup for this year’s Brutal Assault on the main stages is now complete, along with the days when bands will perform. While an additional 20 bands have been added, this year’s edition hasn’t been without changes in the roster.
“We’ve done our best to live up to our reputation and replace artists who, for various reasons, cannot make it with other names of equal renown. It took quite an effort to confirm the replacement acts, but we are very happy to welcome them to our ranks. After MY DYING BRIDE canceled their participation at festivals we subsequently re-opened the discussion of their reconfirmation which, unfortunately, turned out to be out of possibility. But now we can present the iconic doom masters CANDLEMASS!” stated the organizers regarding the replacements.
PIG DESTROYER were forced to cancel their appearance due to logistical reasons. “We believe we’ll make it up to you next year”. As their replacement, CEPHALIC CARNAGE will fly exclusively to Europe performing 2 sets: a celebration of 20 years of “Anomalies” and a retrospective of their work. Pure rocky mountain hydro grind from Denver right in your face!”
Further changes have occurred with AFTER THE BURIAL, DARKEST HOUR, DEVIL MASTER, SPIRITWORLD, and TEN56., who won’t be making it this year. Instead, you can look forward to newly confirmed acts ACID ROW, AEON WINDS, DEADROOTS, DISTANT, DOOMAS, EXORCIZPHOBIA, IONS, MALLEPHYR, OCEANS ATE ALASKA, PERSEFONE, STELLVRIS, and TAKE OFFENSE.
Six more underground names have been added to the lineup: Ukrainian 1914 will bring their dark musical landscape of World War I, Atlanta rebels CLOAK will infuse black with a tradition of heavy metal, Scottish “king of arcane mosh” HELLRIPPER will deliver his brand of black ‘n’ roll, CHTHE’ILIST and WORM will present their unique perspectives on death metal and black doom, and Israeli SREFA will unleash their reeking black metal.
The lineup for the KAL Stage will be announced within the following month.
