CoolHead Live brings Brazilian hardcore, Emma award-winning folk music, and something completely different to Viikki, Helsinki, in July.
Over 15 domestic and international artists will perform in the courtyard of the tropical garden at Gardenia in July. Tickets for the concerts are now on sale.
The upcoming summer’s CoolHead Live concerts are almost ready to be announced. Held for the fourth time in the courtyard of the former tropical garden Gardenia in Viikki, this year’s concert series will be more international than ever before. The music festivities kick off on Wednesday, July 10th, 2024, with the legendary Brazilian band RATOS DE PORÃO, founded in 1981, and TERVEET KÄDET, originating from Tornio in 1979. The atmosphere changes on Thursday when SANNI, one of Finland’s biggest pop stars, takes the stage, while on Friday, July 12th, we’ll see the SCANDINAVIAN MUSIC GROUP & IKUISET YSTÄVÄT, a special lineup that became a favorite of last year’s Helsinki Festival, with their only performance in the metropolitan area this summer.
On Saturday, July 13th, Ihsahn, known as the vocalist of the legendary Norwegian black metal band EMPEROR, takes the stage. His recently released solo album “IHSAHN” has garnered praise from metal audiences around the world. The second week of CoolHead Live offers blues queen Erja Lyytinen and MOKOMA, who sold out twice at Tavastia in March, and on Saturday, July 20th, a true rocking evening with a joint performance by HUORA and LÄHIÖBOTOX. The two-week concert series concludes with the freshly awarded Etno-Emma winner Vilma Jää and the folk music legend VÄRTTINÄ, who return to the spotlight this year, performing on Sunday, July 21st.

The concert events are for ages 18 and up and start at 6 pm, except for the ageless event on Sunday, July 21, where gates open at 3 pm. More programming will be announced soon.

Since its first edition in 2021, the CoolHead Live concert event has brought over 70 outdoor gigs to Viikki, Helsinki. The concerts are held on the back terrace of CoolHead Brew brewery, which offers a variety of food and beverage services. The concerts are organized in collaboration with Nahka Agency and CoolHead Brew.
